Shrink Packing

SHRINK PACKING

It is a process in which heat is applied to a plastic fils (placed on an object) to make it shrink. The film then fits tightly onto the object making the packet dust proof, moisture proof and pilfer proof.

The film used for shrink packing are from the polyolefin range. Most common are LDPE and LLDPE.

As compared to conventional air heating system, IR heaters/lamps provide quicker and more uniform heating. If the objects being heated can be rotated, it will help in increasing the line speed.
