The Eaton-Williams range of Thermoregulators has been designed
to provide close temperature control for plastic/rubber injection
mould tools, extrusion barrels and other industrial processes
that require accurate heating/cooling.
The heart of each unit comprises of solid state relay controlled
immersion heaters and an indirect heat exchanger to provide process
cooling. The use of solid state relays for heating element control
ensures quiet, reliable and long life operation. Process fluid
circulation is by immersible centrifugal pump providing constant
pressure and flow rate. The process temperature is continually
monitored and regulation of better than ±1°C is achieved
by a micro-processor controller with proportional, integral and
derivative control in both heating and cooling modes.

There are 7 model sizes in the Thermoregulator range
from 9 to 72kW heating capacity. Models up to 24kW are suitable
for water or synthetic oil. Also available is a high temperature
water unit up to 160°C.

The controller has an easy to read red LED display for
the process temperature with the process set point displayed below
in green. Red LED arrow indicators show whether the unit is in heating
or cooling mode.
All the Thermoregulators are supplied set with optimum PID loop settings
to suit most applications, however all parameters are fully adjustable.
For oil applications, the controller can be re-rogrammed to give 30%
power output on a short cycle time to control heating element film
temperature, ensuring the oil does not carbonise.
Set point limitation is built into the controller programming.
The units are designed with service/maintenance in mind. The EWTC
09, 18 and 24 units have a hinged top cover for easy access to the
filling pipe (for oil based systems), the manual auto-fill inhibit
valve and for checking pump rotation.
The side and end panels can be easily removed for servicing of the
main components such as the pump and solenoid valves.
